  • What is role-playing?

Think of roleplaying like improvisation - it may be pretending to be something or someone you aren't normally, or a version of yourself. Many people think that roleplaying is limited to scary dungeons and big fire breathing dragons, or even the mother/father/son/daughter roleplaying in a psychiatrist’s offices, but true roleplaying can incorporate anything from futuristic science fiction robots to blonde bimbos with big guns (and I do mean machine guns). Roleplaying is about experiencing new people, places, thoughts, and ways of thinking that you may not normally encounter.

  • what is a character?

A character is the person/animal/thing you role-play. Such as if you decide to role-play a horse, the horse is your character.

  • How exactly do i role-play?

Its very simple actually. Here is an example, your character is annie and the other persons is charlie. Annie: She walked around bored out of her mind. Charlie: He saw annie, walked up to her and smiled. "hi" he said softly. < That is role-playing.

  • What all can i role-play?

Anything you can think of, as long as it fits into the role-play you are joining. If there is not a role-play already up you are interested in, then you can make your own -see the topic 'how to make a succesful rp'-

  • How do i make a good character?

Say you are making a wolf. You need to come up with a name, possibly something unique, and then you fill in the form the role-play provides you.

  • What if i have more questions about role-playing?

If you have any more questions that arent answered here, you may post it on this topic, and i will answer the question.

  • Tips on being a good role-player
  1. Try to us proper grammar. If you dont know how to spell something, thats fine.
  2. Try to use detail. For example, which seems better:  Annie: she walked around OR Annie: She walked around, bored, and looking for someone to talk to. her red hair fell perfectly onto her shoulders.
  3. Try interacts with other characters because if you make your characters never approach someone, they arent going to get to role-play with the other characters
